William D. Lautman
Managing Partner – Nexus Health Capital
Mr. William Lautman serves as Managing Partner of Nexus Health Capital. He enjoys extensive Healthcare Investment Banking and Principal Investing experience. Mr. Lautman has successfully executed numerous public and private investment banking transactions and hosts an extensive roster of senior-level private equity, venture capital, institutional debt, and industry relationships.
Mr. Lautman is frequently invited to speak at leading healthcare industry conferences, including, as a Featured Investment Banking panelist on the Physician Practice Management Panels for (1) GI Outlook 2017: The Practice Management Conference, (2) 2015-18 McDermott Will & Emery Ambulatory Surgery Center & Physician Practice Management Symposium, and (3) 2016-17 McGuireWoods Healthcare Private Equity Conference. Mr. Lautman is a recipient of the People to Watch in Healthcare Transactions Award from Nightingale’s Healthcare News.
Prior to his founding Nexus, Mr. Lautman served as Partner and Head of the New York Healthcare Investment Banking Division – Cowen & Co. and Senior Vice President, Healthcare Investment Banking Group – Kidder, Peabody & Co. Inc.
Mr. Lautman completed the Comparative Business Policy Programme, Oxford University, Brasenose College, received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree from Georgetown University, and his MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Kevin M. Yu, RN
Senior Principal – Nexus Health Capital
Mr. Kevin Yu serves as Senior Principal of Nexus Health Capital. He has extensive experience in Healthcare Investment Banking and Consulting. Mr. Yu has worked directly with Mr. William D. Lautman as the lead principal in numerous growth equity financings, recapitalizations, and other M&A advisory transactions.
Prior to his joining Nexus, Mr. Yu served as a healthcare consultant with leading firms including The Camden Group (now part of GE Healthcare), ZS Associates, and Sg2 (now part of Vizient, the largest hospital GPO in the U.S.). As a consultant, Mr. Yu primarily focused on physician integration and health system strategic planning and operations improvement. In addition to his consulting experience, Mr. Yu enjoys operational, clinical, and research experience from NYU Medical Center (now the NYU Langone Medical Center), the University of Pennsylvania Health System and several outpatient settings.
Mr. Yu received a Master of Science in Health Leadership from University of Pennsylvania, a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Yu is a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
Brett C. Spencer
Vice President – Nexus Health Capital
Mr. Brett Spencer enjoys extensive Healthcare Investment Banking, Transaction Advisory, Due Diligence, and Operational Consulting experience.
Prior to his joining Nexus, Mr. Spencer served as a Transaction Leader within the Business Valuation Services division at VMG Health, a leading National Healthcare Valuation-Advisory firm. Mr. Spencer’s experience spans across numerous sectors of the Healthcare Industry, including Valuation and Transaction Advisory experience with large Physician Groups, Diagnostic Imaging Centers, Oncology Centers, and numerous other ancillary healthcare businesses. Mr. Spencer enjoys extensive Ambulatory Surgery Center Practice Valuation and Transaction experience, including over 200 valuation opinions of single specialty and multi-specialty ASCs, as well as significant work with AmSurg, USPI, Surgery Partners, and SCA, among others. Additionally, Mr. Spencer has served as an advisor in the formation and development of numerous joint venture initiatives between physician practices and other providers with hospitals and health systems.
Mr. Spencer holds a Bachelor’s degree in Corporate Finance from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin with a minor in Accounting, where he also competed on the University of Texas Men’s Golf Team.
